The MedX Strength Studio

Based in Poole, Dorset, The MedX Strength Studio is a private space for clients to enjoy the multiple benefits that come from being trained by our dedicated strength coaches.

​

The machines are seated, state of the art, medical grade strength exercise equipment designed to deliver a safe, efficient and effective workout.

​

These include: 

​

Leg Press - a fantastic compound exercise that strengthens your quads, hamstrings, glutes and calves all at the same time!

​

Chest Press - this machine will help you to strengthen your pectorals (chest) and your triceps.

​

Torso Arm - works the torso and arms! including your latissimus dorsi (large back muscle on your sides) rhomboids, biceps and improve grip strength.

 

Overhead Press - works your posterior, medial and anterior deltoids (shoulders) and the triceps.

 

Seated Row - another great back exercise with even more benefits. This works the upper back muscles, latissimus dorsi, biceps, improves grip strength and posture!

​

All the above exercises are compound, meaning they work multiple muscle groups over the greatest range of motion.

​

Our studio also offers several isolation exercise which helps with targeting muscular imbalances, injury recovery and rehabilitation and rebuilding strength.

​

These include:

​

Leg Extension - quadriceps (front thigh muscle)

​

Hamstring Curl - hamstrings! (rear thigh muscle opposing the quads)

​

Pull Over - this targets your latissimus dorsi but can also help improve shoulder mobility.

​

Lower Back - do you have lower back pain? most of us experience it as some point. This machine targets the erector spinae (lower back muscle) and helps strengthen it.

​

Tricep Pushdown - a machine focusing on your tricep strength.

​

Lateral Raise - this works the shoulders laterally and develops strong broad shoulders.

​

We also have a Pull Up Bar if you feel like hanging out - slow or statically of course!

​

All equipment is cleaned, checked and tested to ensure they are safe and effective to use.

We prioritise health longevity through strength training

The MedX training style asks you to perform every repetition of each exercise super slow and to complete muscle fatigue/failure - why do we train you this way?

​

 - The intensity of the weight is focused longer on the desired muscles, resulting in more muscle fibres becoming contacted, stretched and torn.

- These muscle fibres will then (with optimal rest) come back leaner and stronger, building strength, tone and size.

- This enables us to coach an efficient,  realistic and time effective strength session by only needing to use 5 compound exercise machines we call the big five:

​

-  The Leg Press (Quads, Hamstrings, Glutes and Calves)

- The Chest Press (Pectorals, triceps

- Torso Arm Pulldown (Latissimus Trapezius, Rhomboids, Dorsi, Biceps, Forearms, grip strength)

-Overhead Press (All deltoid muscles, triceps and pectorals)

- Seated Row (Rhomboids, Latissimus Dorsi, Biceps

The efficiency and time saving comes from working multiple muscle groups at the same time and moving from one machine to the next swiftly. This is why a session lasts 30 mins or less, perfect for those with time limitations.

We are committed to coaching, supporting and training clients to achieve their fitness goals through the MedX safe strength training method.

Being safer due to the controlled, focused and slow speed.

 

The slow style focuses all the intensity of the weight on your muscles and as a result builds strength faster.

 

All exercises are seated, machine based and fully customisable to ensure clients joints are protected from hyper-extension and the muscle is targeted for maximum gain.

 

The private strength studio is yours to use with your own strength coach to guide, support and instruct you.
